"I know Val- I mean, Victor. You should really become a real Time Lord again. You could bring your wife and kids with you! I'll come with you if you think that you need help explaning. Now lemme shoot this dalek squad as a whole." "...Thank you, Shadow. That would be most appreciated." Victor watched as Shadow shot into the remaining daleks. They exploded with a chain reaction, almost like dominoes. "See? Fun. Now let's go explain to your family." Victor sighed a bit inwardly, although he knew it would have to come. At least he wouldn't have to be doing it alone. He opened the door to the basement and motioned for Shadow to go down. He then followed, and rejoined his family. After a short reunion, he motioned to Shadow and said, "This is my friend... John Smith."

"This is my friend... John Smith."
Victor introduced me. I replied. "Hello. I a friend of the Vale- I mean Victor. It's so hard not to call you that, you know? But. Down to business." I turned to the Valeyard's wife. "Your husband, which you may know as Victor, is actually a Time Lord named The Valeyard. You may not know this, but our names are phony. I'm the Shadow, and he's the Valeyard (pronounced Val-yurd). Your fireplace does not work, yes? Well that's because it is a time machine. Go step inside it. Check. All the daleks are destroyed. Took 'em out m'self. It's safe now. And my Police Box over there is my time machine. My, TARDIS. Or Time And Relative Dimensions In Space. You can check. If you want, you can stay, but TARDIS's are infinite. There is enough room to fit your moon in there! I'm not crazy, I assure you. Your children can regenerate when they are about to die. 5 times, since they are only part Time Lord. Me and Victor can regenerate 13 times! I'm on my 3rd regeneration m'self. Please consider this." I turned back to the Valeyard. "See? Not that hard."

After Shadow finished his long explanation, Victor turned slightly towards his family, observing their faces. Each had a different expression, his daughter seeming to think it was the most amazing thing she had ever heard, while his wife was stunned and unsure of what to think, and his son seemed as if he could care less. "See? Not that hard." Victor turned back to face Shadow, a slight scowl on his face. "..Not that hard? I'm the one who's going to have to finish explaining this.. I don't know where to start!" He wasn't ready to divulge all of his secrets, ready to tell how he had deserted Gallifrey. Unsure of what to say next, he turned back, facing his wife. She had tears beginning to slide down her face, and her expression was a mix of betrayal, confusion, and disbelief. Victor felt as if his hearts were breaking, putting his wife through this emotional turmoil. "I'm so sorry," he said, his usually confident, baritone voice faltering a bit.

"I'm so sorry,"
I looked at the family that had just been broken by me. "I'm sorry, too. I didn't have to break it like that. But, if you would like, Victor can show you his TARDIS! It's amazing. A type 106-B-4-C. Better than my Type 40! So what do you say?"

Victor smiled grimly as his daughter's face lit up like a child on Christmas day. "Why not?" he said, starting up the stairs, hoping his wife would follow after him.

"Why not?"
As we headed upstairs, I ran to my TARDIS to collect Ace and Peri. "Ace, Peri! Come out here!"
The replies were; "Yes professor!" and "Alright, Shadow."
"Well?" I said, turning to Victor. "Open it up and show them!"

"Open it up and show them!" Victor sighed as he stepped inside the sooty, slightly rusty fireplace and flipped the chameleon circuit switch. The fireplace transformed into a a silver cylinder, and he swung the door open to let everyone in. "Don't worry, it's larger on the inside," he said, looking at the dubious expressions on his family's faces. He stepped deeper inside to allow passage to the inside of the TARDIS. Its inside was mostly dark, with the core glowing a faint green. A flip of a switch illuminated the TARDIS, which emitted a small groan. Victor ran his slender fingers along the dusty surface of the control panels, taking in the smell of dust and disuse and seeing the cobwebs in the corners.

I stepped into the Valeyard's TARDIS, looking at the misuse of it. "What have you done to her? How long have you not been using this?" I walked around. "You got a scanner in here?"

The Rani materializes outside the Victor's TARDIS and ¨Oh look. What a beautiful moment. The doctor's little friend is finally admitting to his family that he's not human. They look like they could use some company.¨ The rani creeps in the TARDIS and hides

"What have you done to her? How long have you not been using this?" Victor grimaced. "It has been too long, nearly a hundred years." He continued to look around his TARDIS, broken down from disuse. He thought of all the better times he had had with it, sometimes the TARDIS being his only companion in his solitude. He could almost feel it brightening, now that it was being used. "I know.. you've been locked out of sight all these years..." Victor whispered to the TARDIS silently. While before he had wanted to stay on Earth, normal, just being with the TARDIS brought back his thirst for adventure, for exploration, for knowledge of the universe.
